Description of the job

We are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking Talent Strategy Manager to lead our national talent acquisition function and power the next phase of growth at The Reject Shop.

Reporting directly to the General Manager – People & Culture, you will shape and drive our end-to-end recruitment strategy across both business-as-usual hiring and new store development. From leading national sourcing campaigns to building internal mobility frameworks and strengthening our employer brand, this is a key leadership role with impact at every level of the business.

You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, People & Culture Business Partners, Store Operations and Store Development teams to ensure we have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time — every time.

This is a full-time role based at our Kensington office, with hybrid flexibility (3 days in office / 2 days WFH).

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Strategically leading the recruitment function across both new store development and business-as-usual hiring
  • Designing and delivering multi-year talent acquisition strategies aligned to business growth and overall strategy
  • Coaching and developing a high-performing Talent team to deliver consistent results
  • Building strategic workforce plans with key internal partners to anticipate talent needs
  • Driving external sourcing, proactive talent pipelining and campaigns for volume and hard-to-fill roles
  • Shaping and activating our employer brand
  • Overseeing recruitment for new store openings, ensuring proactive planning and partnering with internal teams
  • Leveraging data and insights to optimise recruitment processes and improve time-to-fill, cost-per-hire and quality-of-hire metrics with clear SLA’s
  • Ensuring a high-quality, inclusive and consistent candidate experience across all touchpoints

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in Strategic Partnering with stakeholders and Leadership
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach
  • End to end project management and deliverables
  • Experience in internal talent mapping and workforce planning
  • Experience in employer branding, sourcing and internal mobility
  • Confident using data to drive decisions and optimise performance
  • Knowledge of recruitment systems/HRIS/Systems and process design
  • Passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams

What We Offer:

  • Hybrid working model – 3 days in office, 2 days WFH
  • A high-impact, business-critical role with exposure to senior leadership
  • A supportive, collaborative People & Culture team
  • The opportunity to shape the talent function through a period of significant growth
  • Convenient Kensington office location close to public transport
  • Employee benefits including paid parental leave and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • A values-led culture where your ideas and leadership will make a real difference

If you are a people-focused talent leader with a passion for growth, capability, and impact — we would love to hear from you.
