Day Supervisor / Forklift Operator

We currently have an opportunity for a skilled and knowledgeable PM Operations Supervisor to join our team at our Dandenong Depot reporting to the Operations (Depot) Manager, the core function of your role is to effectively co-ordinate and manage the loading and unloading of the PUD fleet , country linehaul trailers and external suppliers delivering freight into the Depot . This is a hands on position that requires strong forklift skills.

Regular start time is 9:00am Mon to Fri.

Salary based position.

Your primary function will include:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

• Computer skills with an ability to use Microsoft office programs and the company's proprietary software.

• Forklift operation.

• Loading / unloading of freight from vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

• Ensuring all loading and delivery windows are met.

• Promoting a safety culture.

• Adherence to all legislative and Chain of Responsibility requirements.

• Encourage a great working culture that reports on issues relating to service failure, loss or damages.

• Liaising with the Depot Manager to facilitate continuous improvement.

• Daily reporting to key stakeholders.

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Previous supervisory experience in a Transport, Distribution or 3PL environment

• Good computer skills, strong people and relationship building skills

• Effective management and leadership skills

• Sound knowledge of Melbourne Metropolitan and country areas

• The ability to adopt, implement and follow work procedures

• Outstanding problem solving skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Current Forklift plus HR, HC or MC licence (minimum HR)
