This transformation is about people, purpose, and progress, and we are recruiting a diverse range of roles to the department - building a team that is passionate about service excellence, operational uplift, and meaningful change.

We’re looking for individuals who are not only skilled in their field, but who thrive in collaborative environments and are motivated by the opportunity to make a real and positive impact.

Reporting to the Area Leader Infrastructure Development (Brownfields or Greenfields) in a matrix structure, the Project Manager works with a range of internal stakeholders to support and deliver small to large-scale projects in infrastructure and facilities, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and compliance standards.

You will be part of the Construction & Development Unit within the Facilities, Fleet & Depot Stores Department of the City Operations Directorate, contributing to Wyndham’s strategic priorities in financial sustainability, integrated planning, and organisational capability.

Working alongside a skilled and supportive team, you will manage multiple projects concurrently, liaise with contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders, and apply sound project management frameworks to achieve outstanding outcomes for the community.

This position may require occasional weekend, public holiday, and after-hours work, as well as travel across the municipality.

What your day will look like

  • Manage and/or support assigned infrastructure and facilities projects

  • Monitor budgets, schedules, safety, and risks, ensuring compliance with Council policies

  • Prepare project documentation including project plans, tenders, reports, and business cases

  • Oversee contract administration and contractor performance

  • Engage with internal teams, community members, and external agencies

  • Maintain accurate project records and contribute to program reporting

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline, or substantial relevant experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure projects across all lifecycle stages

  • Strong contract administration, budget management, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software

  • Working knowledge of WHS, environmental, and compliance requirements in project delivery

  • Well-developed communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence, Construction Induction (White) Card, and Working with Children Check

If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
